Position Description: The Fiscal & Policy Analyst is responsible for performing detailed analysis of complex departmental budgets both as part of the annual budget review and throughout the year; building and maintaining relationships with departments and stakeholders; and, preparing and presenting policy and budget recommendations to the Mayor's Budget Director and other Mayoral staff.

As a Fiscal & Policy Analyst, you will review and analyze annual budget submissions of city departments; prepare and present policy and budget recommendations; monitor department spending and hiring over the course of the year; and act as key contact for budget, policy, and program matters between the Mayor's Office and city departments. As part of this work, you will often need to summarize complex information and present your summary to decisionmakers.

Working Hours: Full-time, 40 hours/week. Additional hours may be required to complete assignments, as needed. In particular, this team works longer hours, including frequent evenings and weekends, during the busiest months of the budget season (March through June). This position is based in San Francisco City Hall with a hybrid work schedule; employees are required to be in-office a minimum of three days per week.
