CLINICAL SUPERVISOR

SAN FRANCISCO MENTAL HEALTH PROGRAM

Job Summary:

Under the supervision of the Program Director, this position has the primary responsibility for providing supervision of both licensed and unlicensed mental health clinicians, family partners, and Intensive Care Coordinators (ICC) in our San Francisco Mental Health program. The clinicians will primarily be working with children ages 0-22 and their families, most of whom are involved in the child welfare system or have been previously. Mental health services include: trauma-informed care, developmentally appropriate assessments; development of a family centered treatment plan; providing mental health treatment (dyadic, individual, or family therapy); coordination of care with child welfare workers, parents, foster parents, schools, and other collaterals; maintaining a written record of treatment, including clinical assessments. Supervision responsibilities include: direct oversight of mental health clinicians and ICC Coordinators work; reviewing clinicians notes, assessments and care plans to ensure compliance with MediCal requirements; providing guidance and assistance with the treatment of clients; weekly individual supervision, and other responsibilities as needed. This position will have a dual role of supervising clinicians as well as providing direct client care. You will regularly dedicate approximately 20% of your time to providing direct care to clients.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide reflective individual and/or group supervision of mental health clinicians. May also include individual supervision of family partners and/or Intensive Care Coordinators.
Oversight of clinicians administrative duties in order to meet MediCal and other compliance requirements including meeting required deadlines.
Oversight of clinicians clinical work.
Oversight of evaluation process of employees.
Assist clinicians in meeting A Better Way standards, including billing and service delivery expectations
Maintain a caseload of clients, providing direct therapy services and meeting all requirements for direct client care.
Attend appropriate meetings, which include weekly supervision, staff meetings, and leadership and other trainings.
Follows all procedures and protocols related to EPSDT (Mental health component of program).
Follow regulatory guidelines, mandated reporting, and program/agency protocols in performing duties.
Abide by all provisions of the A Better Way personnel manual.
Collaborate with Program Director to provide programmatic support as needed.
Perform any other duties as directed

Qualifications and Characteristics Desired:

LCSW, LMFT, or PsyD, must be licensed with BBS and eligible to supervise.
Meet BOP or BBS requirements for supervision.
Excellent clinical and writing skills.
Supervision experience preferred.
Direct experience working with diverse racial and ethnic populations.
Bilingual in Spanish preferred
Strong understanding of theoretical and developmental principles of trauma and community-based mental health.
Understanding of reflective supervision.
Familiarity and experience in working with children and their families in the 0-21 age range. Specific knowledge of Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health treatment and Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) preferred.
Knowledge, understanding, and willingness to work with interdisciplinary approaches and partnerships, particularly within the child welfare system.
Understanding of the DSM-5 and/or DC 0-5, and the development/writing of family focused assessments and care plans. Understanding of standardized assessment measures.
Experience using electronic health systems (such as Exym, Avatar, or Epic).
Ability to work independently and to work as a member of a team.
Strong capacity to take initiative, seek out answers, and approach problems with curiosity. Have a learning mindset.
Knowledge and/or certification with using the Child and Adolescent Needs Assessment (CANS) and other standardized assessment measures.
Knowledge of Intensive Care Coordination (ICC), Intensive Home Based Services (IHBS), and/or Therapeutic Visitation Services (TVS) in San Francisco County preferred.
Excellent organizational, computer, interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to undergoLivescan checkneeded to work with children.
Must have a valid drivers license, reliable transportation, a clean driving record, and maintain current auto insurance

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office setting. The San Francisco office is located at 832 Folsom Street in the SoMa neighborhood.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

Full-time. Work scheduleMonday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Hours may vary based on client need; evenings may be required. Eligible forpartial remote work, with supervisor approval.

The pay range listed for this position may vary based on language proficiency. Compensation incentives are available for candidates who possess bilingual skills relevant to this role

Travel

Local travel to various worksites is required.
