Job description

The role is a Laboratory Assistant 2 in a non-clinical/academic laboratory at Mission Bay. The position is temporary with the intention of conversion to career hire at 6 months. A Bachelor's of Science is required in any scientific field. Previous laboratory experience is preferred, but not required. The candidate needs to be comfortable working in a lab environment where they will handle infectious materials and biohazardous waste.

General housekeeping in the BSL-2 lab on the daily basis; collect the red waste bags from the BSL-2 lab for EH&S pickup. Collect and wash general labware, maintain Millipore water supply.

Manage Shipping/Receiving room for entire department, including distribution and notification to faculty and staff

Work with equipment service personnel to maintain three autoclaves and glassware washer.
