SUMMARY
At California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS), we are dedicated to training the next generation of counselors who embrace a relational, holistic, and culturally sensitive approach to psychotherapy. Our Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology (MA-CP) Program is designed to cultivate leading-edge practitioners through specialized training in unique counseling modalities, ensuring that our graduates are well-prepared with a license-eligible degree qualifying graduates for the LMFT and/or LPCC in California.
We are seeking passionate, skilled, and experienced adjunct faculty to contribute to our dynamic program. As a part of our faculty, you will play a pivotal role in advancing our mission and vision by teaching specialized courses with students from 5 program concentrations including:
- Integral Counseling Psychology (ICP)
- Community Mental Health (CMH)
- Drama Therapy (PDT)
- Expressive Arts Therapy (EXA)
- Somatic Psychology (SOM)
WHAT WE OFFER:
- Diverse Teaching Opportunities: Courses are available in fall, spring, and summer semesters with options for in-person, weekend, and online/hybrid formats. Most courses are on campus.

- MCP 6103 Multicultural Counseling and the Family (2.00 units)
- MCP 6233 Intro to CMH and the Recovery Model (2.00 units)
- MCP 6331 Psychological Assessment: Psychometric Theory (3.00 units)

Job Requirements:
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
- Clinical License: While a current, relevant clinical license (e.g., MFT, LPCC, LCSW, PsyD, or MD) is preferred, it is not required. We welcome applications from pre-licensed individuals who are committed to our mission and values.
- Experience: At least two years of post-licensure clinical experience is preferred, but not mandatory. We value diverse experiences and perspectives and are open to considering candidates with varying levels of clinical and professional experience.
- Education: A MA degree in Counseling Psychology or a closely related field is required. Advanced degrees or additional certifications are advantageous and will be considered favorably.
- Teaching Experience: Demonstrated experience in teaching or training relevant to our course offerings is preferred. We also encourage individuals with significant practical experience and a strong commitment to teaching to apply.
Additional Information:
COMPENSATION
The salary range is: $1242 - $2090 per unit
NOTES TO CANDIDATES
- Location: Most courses are taught in-person on campus but we do have several online/asynchronous sections.
- Restrictions: Due to state authorization regulations CIIS cannot currently consider faculty applicants (both full-time/core and part-time as well as adjunct) who reside in Kentucky, Idaho, Iowa, Rhode Island, Tennessee, or the District of Columbia.
- Working Conditions: Duties are primarily performed in an office environment at a desk or computer terminal, typically Monday through Friday.
- Background Check: Due to the sensitivity and requirements of this position, you should expect to undergo and be cleared of an employment background/criminal check, if extended an offer for employment. You may also be asked to provide proof of educational degree(s), licenses, or credentials pertinent to the position. If your job requires driving on behalf of CIIS you will be required to provide proof of a valid driver's license.
