Business Development (Emerging Markets) Specialist

We are currently accepting applications for a Business Development (Emerging Markets) Specialist. This position requires 75% of time spent out in the markets in the southern parts of Santa Clara County (and surrounding counties) and 25% of time based in our San Jose Corporate Office.


As our Business Development (Emerging Markets) Specialist, your major responsibilities will include:

  • Drive membership, deposit and loan growth through active business development activities and achieve assigned growth goals.
  • Co-Lead the Credit Union's efforts to establish a strong presence and increase awareness in designated communities.
  • Build relationships with community leaders, employers and city officials in designated emerging markets that align with the Credit Union's expansion strategy.
  • Identify and assess business development opportunities in the south Santa Clara County and beyond.
  • Build relationships with key business leaders by attending chambers of commerce events and conducting outreach to businesses operating in these communities. Utilizing various channels, including networking events, conferences, and digital platforms, prospect and engage target businesses.
  • Lead, participate, organize, drive, and execute business development events to increase awareness of the organization's brand and sharing the benefits of being a CommonWealth member.
  • Assist in identifying additional emerging markets for future expansion opportunities.

Our ideal candidate will have a minimum of two to five years similar or related experience. Outside sales experience required. Bachelor's degree preferred. Proven ability to generate new business, acquire new members and enhance existing external relationships required. Must feel comfortable making cold calls when required. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal). Must possess a professional demeanor and project a professional image while representing the Credit Union. Ability to maintain confidentiality and conduct oneself with a high level of diplomacy and tact. Must have reliable transportation.

Pay Range: $67,000 - 84,000; based on skills and experience.
