Job description

Piper Companies is hiring a Entry Level EMC Engineer for a world wide technology organization located in San Jose, CA. The Entry Level EMC Engineer will need to sit on site in San Jose, CA 5 days per week and will not have sponsorship available for this role. This is a long term open ended contract opportunity for second shift (3:30pm - 11:30pm PST).

Responsibilities for the Entry Level EMC Engineer:

  • Develop and execute EMC test plans for various electronic devices.
  • Conduct EMC tests, including Radiated Emission, Radiated Susceptibility, Conducted Emission, Conducted Susceptibility, ESD, Surge, and other related tests.
  • Utilize RF test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes, network analyzers, and power amplifiers.
  • Analyze test results and prepare detailed technical reports.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve EMC issues and improve product performance.
  • Maintain and calibrate EMC test equipment and facilities.
  • Stay updated with the latest EMC standards and regulations.
  • Requirements for the Entry Level EMC Engineer:

  • A degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience or familiarity with EMC testing, including Radiated Emission, Radiated Susceptibility, Conducted Emission, Conducted Susceptibility, ESD, Surge, and other EMC tests.
  • Experience or familiarity with using RF test equipment (spectrum analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes, network analyzers, power amplifiers, etc.).
  • Basic mechanical/assembly skills using basic hand tools and power tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English for generating technical reports.
  • Enthusiasm for working in a fast-paced, collaborative, cross-functional environment.
  • Bonus:

  • Experience or familiarity with networking equipment like routers and switches.
  • Experience or familiarity with Internet Protocols and networking protocols.
  • Compensation for the Entry Level EMC Engineer:

  • $50,000 - 65,000
