Schedule
Primarily day shift, must be able to work a flexible schedule evenings and/or weekends depending on the need of the business.
The Role
The Facilities Manager will work side by side with the facilities maintenance teams (Maintenance/Fiber/Sanitation). Provide management and direction in the performance of routine, planned, preventative maintenance and emergency services for company buildings. The building facilities manager will supervise the facilities maintenance employees. This position will also serve as the subject matter expert / project manager for review and approval of contractor plans and construction.
Essential Responsibilities Include but Not Limited To
All employees are responsible for Facility and Food safety and are expected to notify the appropriate manager, supervisor, or key personnel if they witness any compromise to food safety or food quality.
Develop short-term and long-term facility maintenance plans
Develop scope, plans, designs, and manage work projects for the maintenance of facilities including roofing, HVAC, structural systems, driveway, parking lots, electrical, plumbing, etc.
Responsible for PM's for Ammonia system, alarms, trouble-shooting, general repairs and working with vendor(s) and maintain compliance with Cal-ARP.
Inspect plant facilities or review inspection reports to determine repairs, replacements, or improvements required
Manage contract administration and construction supervision for various facilities maintenance projects to ensure contract compliance with specifications.
Assign building maintenance employees to duties such as maintenance, repair, or renovation and may obtain bids for additional work from outside contractors
Serve as a building emergency contact and will respond to emergency services as they arise
Communicate emergency issues to Operations Director with a sense of urgency to resolve matters quickly for the needs of the building operation or with other dept. leads as seen fit based on scenario.
Purchase building and maintenance supplies, machinery, equipment, etc. with approval of Operations Director
Interpret and explain blueprints and plans of building construction and remodeling projects
Review reports of expenditures for previous fiscal year and proposed improvements to facilities to prepare budget estimates for upcoming fiscal year
Maintain in compliance Facility safety and Food Safety Fundamentals practices. (working in tandem with FS compliance team)
Communicate to relevant personnel all information essential to ensure the effective implementation and maintenance of the SQF plans.
Supervision Received: This position will report directly to the Operations Director.
Supervision Exercised: This position supervises a team of building maintenance employees (Maintenance/Fiber/Sanitation), to include hiring, training, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, and terminations. Gives guidance, advice and support to the building maintenance team to aid in the timely completion of projects and day to day duties.
Additional Compensation Details:
$88K - $95K Dependent on experience and location
Potential 90-day performance-based raise
Yearly review with possibility of increase based on performance and tenure
Qualifications:
Core Knowledge/Skills
Project Management skills
Knowledge of CAl- OSHA Regulations
Knowledge of HACCP
Proficient Computer Skills: Microsotft Office
Proficiency with CAL-Arp / PSM/RMP and HAZMAT compliance
Desired Minimum Qualifications
5 years relevant experience at a comparable level of responsibility in projects of similar size, scope and complexity.
Bachelor's degree in related field.
Any combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job
Must be able to work with a sense of urgency and maintain ongoing project deadlines
Excellent verbal and written communicator - Bilingual Spanish/English
Must be available after hours for emergency building issues and or contacting vendors for emergency repairs
Licensing and Certification: Valid State driver's license (required), Facilities Manager (CFM) preferred but not required and Forklift experience a plus.
Tools and Equipment Used: Computer, MS Office products, proprietary software and other basic office equipment. Building maintenance equipment, machinery, tools, and other building equipment.
Supplemental Information

Actual compensation will be dependent on factors, including but not limited to, the individual's qualifications, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as physical work location within the state.
