This is an entry level position and as such, you will be trained in all aspects of Outreach Community Events.
From food drives to health fairs, public speaking at community events and other venues, you would be educating the community about the services and government programs we offer at TrueCare.
Established in 1971, TrueCare is North Countys Premier Federally Qualified Health Center, built around our core values of social responsibility, corporate citizenship, and diversity.
The Community Outreach Worker is responsible for providing outreach and education services focused on health awareness, to improve health literacy, healthcare access for under-served communities and to increase knowledge among the community. The Outreach Worker also works collaboratively with TRUECARE departments as well as community-based agencies to make critical linkages to TRUECARE health information and services for potential clients and patients.
Youll be considered qualified if:
- Associates degree in healthcare or related field or equivalent work experience
- At least one (1) year experience in health care or related field performing outreach, health education, patient case work, and/or customer service to diverse populations
- Knowledge of local community-based agencies
- Availability to work regularly outside of normal shifts (i.e., 8am to 5pm)
- Public speaking, computer literacy, including internet navigation and research skills, and proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Bilingual Spanish
- Reliable transportation, proof of auto insurance and a clean driving record, no tickets or accidents. You will be utilizing your vehicle to drive to and from these venues and at times transport props and materials to distribute in your vehicle.
Youll be highly desirable if:
- Bachelors degree in healthcare or related field
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification for Healthcare Providers
Licenses Required:
Valid California Drivers License and a clean driving record, as you will need to travel to various clinic and community locations.

In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the base salary range for this position. If you are hired at TrueCare, your final base salary (within the pay range), will be determined based on factors such as education, knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider the internal equity of our current team members when determining any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical to allow for future and continued salary growth. We also offer generous benefits and retirement plans.
Employment is contingent on having an annual COVID-19 vaccination, or use of a mask, from November 1 through March 31 of every year.
