Despite tremendous advances in the field, HIV remains a global epidemic with an unequally heavy impact among marginalized populations. Continued innovation is vital to address unmet needs for people who are impacted by HIV to further improve individual and population health outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement key patient marketing strategies and tactics for the US HIV Direct-to-Patient efforts.
- Partner with DTP Team to coordinate omnichannel engagement and implement patient strategies and tactics.
- Define campaign objectives, KPIs, and performance metrics and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to develop data collection and reporting frameworks.
- Gather and analyze data from digital media campaigns to optimize digital media quality and performance.
- Work collaboratively within DTP team as well as with cross functional partners to identify synergies, solve key business problems and apply optimizations to the overall efforts.
- Lead targeted workstreams as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Digital Media
- Lead patient conference planning and execution
- Develop and deliver informative patient-friendly education and other DTP initiatives based on customer needs.
- Lead or serve as a key project team member on cross-functional projects, often with high visibility to senior management within the organization.
- Partner with Gilead Digital Strategy Operations (DSO), and Media Creative Agencies
- Gain approval for marketing materials through internal review process and adheres to established SOP and ensuring marketing activities are following regulatory and legal requirements.
- Identify opportunities to pilot new ideas to reach and engage people living with HIV in innovative ways that drive business results.
Knowledge
- Demonstrate command of traditional and non-traditional marketing channels including TV, print, digital, SEO/SEM, POC, & social media.
- Demonstrate a high degree of digital knowledge and expertise.
- Ability to translate market research/data into key insights/communication strategies.
- Recognized expertise in implementing pharmaceutical brand and communication planning, patient targeting and activation, with an understanding of measurement/ROI.
- Has a proactive approach to business and is confident working within a fast-paced and challenging environment.
- Proven project management skills, planning, prioritization, objective setting, and plan execution
- Excellent communication skills with an ability to efficiently communicate both orally and in writing are required.
- Must have ability to command respect through exercise of sound business judgment and clear decision-making.
- Comfortable discussing topics in HIV category, including sex, sexual orientation, mental health, & substance use
- Demonstrate understanding of pharmaceutical regulatory requirements and impact on development of marketing materials is required.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and Ten Years' Experience
OR
Masters' Degree and Eight Years' Experience
OR
PhD and Two Years' Experience
Preferred Qualifications
- A minimum of 4-6 years in product marketing or advertising focused on consumers or patients.
- Bachelor's degree in marketing or related fields.
- Previous experience in marketing, market research and/or communications agency experience desired.
- Bi-lingual, fluent in conversational and written English and Spanish
- Willingness to travel up to 20%, attending conferences, market research, meetings with key stakeholders.

The salary range for this position is: $191,335.00 - $247,610.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans .
