Job Description

At Gilead, Media Strategy and Operations plays a critical role for digital transformation, a strategic partner to our brands, and focuses on delivering a superior digital experience to our customers in the US.

Within the Customer Experience, Digital and Media Strategy team, the Digital Media and Strategy team is the main group for developing the Gilead US's digital media and social strategy; executing, measuring, and optimizing it with improved paid media quality and performance, in alignment with the brand teams.

We are seeking a Senior Manager, Social Content Strategist - Organic Social to enhance the development and execution of our organic social media presence. This role is pivotal in growing our brand presence across various platforms, targeting key audiences, and managing our content to ensure it aligns with our overall business goals. The ideal candidate will bring a mix of creativity, analytical skills, and leadership to manage agency relationships, drive engagement, and make data-driven decisions. This role will sit in Foster City, CA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Social Content Strategy: Develop and recommend comprehensive social media content strategies (organic and paid) that align with brand objectives and drive audience engagement.
  • Content Creation & Execution: Oversee the development of compelling content, from ideation to execution, ensuring consistency in voice, tone, and messaging across all platforms.
  • Agency Management: Partner and collaborate with external agencies to ensure deliverables are on-brand, on-time, content moderation and optimized for maximum engagement.
  • Analytics & Insights: Monitor performance metrics, provide insights, and make data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement of organic social efforts.
  • Trend Identification: Stay informed about industry trends, platform updates, and best practices to keep the strategy and content fresh, competitive and relevant.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including brand, PRC, and agencies, to help establish and standardize social best practices and processes across the enterprise.
  • Support brands in the creation of creative/content briefs for both paid and organic social campaigns and influencer selection and activations, ensuring alignment with brand messaging and objectives.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and Eight Years' Experience

OR

Masters' Degree and Six Years' Experience

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in social media strategy and content development, preferably in a highly regulated industry like pharma or healthcare.
  • Deep understanding of organic social media channels, trends, and best practices, with proven experience in driving brand engagement.
  • Demonstrable track record of growing social audiences
  • Strong ability to manage agency relationships and collaborate across teams to bring social strategies to life.
  • Proficient in using social media analytics tools to monitor performance, optimize campaigns, and provide actionable insights.
  • Ability to be both a self-starter and team player; strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to balance priorities and thrive in a fast-paced start-up environment
  • Early adopter of new and emerging social media platforms; passionate about both being a user/consumer of social content as well as analyst/strategist

The salary range for this position is: $165,580.00 - $214,280.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package.
