Cardiothoracic Surgeon opening in CA
Located in San Rafael, 20m to San Francisco
Full Time Position
Health System is looking for an exceptional cardiac surgeon to join our expanding team. Each year, our cardiologists and surgeons care for thousands of patients who require virtually every type of heart surgery, including coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery, aortic aneurysm, arrhythmias, heart failure, heart valve surgery, and more.
The Position
Join a well-established network of primary care, cardiology, and specialty providers
Full-time position, based in Marin
Robust referral base including a 19-physician single specialty Cardiology practice (Including Interventional Cardiology, Structural Heart Disease, Electrophysiology, Heart Failure)
Exciting growth opportunity with strong clinical, administrative, philanthropic, and marketing support
Medical Director role available
Provide minimally invasive mitral repair and aortic valve surgery, atrial septal defect (ASD) closures, septal myectomies for hypertrophic cardiomyopathy coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery, and TAVR and temporary mechanical support experience strongly preferred.
Participate in call panel
Main clinic located in Larkspur, just 2 blocks from our newly renovated hospital campus, our Medical Center, a level-2 trauma center. Outreach clinic locations available throughout the North Bay.
Dedicated mid-level support for the cardiac surgery program
Epic electronic health record utilized

Qualifications for this Position
M.D. or D.O.
Applicants must be board-eligible or certified with the American Board of Thoracic Surgery (ABTS).
Licensed or eligible for licensure in California
The ideal candidate should be proficient in various aspects of adult cardiothoracic surgery and committed to clinical quality, patient safety, and multidisciplinary teamwork.
Possess leadership experience, entrepreneurial spirit, and an interest in building a strong Cardiothoracic Program in Marin and the broader North Bay
Exhibit excellent communication skills and be able to develop strong relationships with patients, as well as sensitivity to cultural and linguistic differences
Practice evidence-based medicine and possess a strong philosophy of excellence in patient care and excellence in the overall patient experience
Post graduate experience preferred, but not required.
