Job description
We're looking for a Manager, Revenue Accounting. As a member of the Accounting team, you will review contractual terms, analyze accounting treatment for certain transactions, record and report accounting transactions in alignment with the month-end close cycle, and optimize processes to improve efficiency and ensure complete and accurate data flow. You will collaborate cross functionally with other business partners daily to gather key insights and relevant information to ensure accurate and timely accounting and US GAAP reporting.
Responsibilities:
Apply your knowledge of ASC 606 to non-standard transactions and new product offerings, documenting analysis and conclusions on the technical accounting impacts. Collaborate with the Technical Accounting team on complex issues.
Collaborate with key cross-functional stakeholders to align on operational impacts, controls, and reporting needs for accounting close. Strengthen key cross-functional relationships while raising awareness of accounting needs and priorities
Prepare and review revenue month-end journals and associated reconciliations by working with different areas of the business to ensure all transactions are accounted for in accordance with Company policies and US GAAP.
Participate in and drive revenue to cash process improvements and automation initiatives to reduce manual effort and enhance revenue system capabilities.
Prepare and review materials for internal and external reporting on a monthly and quarterly basis.
Execute on controls and maintain proper process documentation and evidence in accordance with SOX
Provide support for the annual US financial statement audit, periodic internal audits, and statutory audits
Provide support for other ad hoc analyses, user acceptance testing, and revenue related projects as needed
Manage workload and prioritization of tasks/projects independently while proactively sharing progress and enhancements that can benefit processes beyond scope of assigned areas
Required Skills
Strong Accounting knowledge with an understanding of US GAAP, especially experience in Revenue Recognition and contract review
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization
A proactive, self-directed approach with the ability to multi-task, think creatively, and learn quickly in a fast-paced environment
Strong work ethic with the ability to work extended hours during critical periods
Excels at business partnering and working with cross-functional teams, building meaningful business relationships along the way
Exceptional analytical and Excel skills, comfortable working with large data sets
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Exceptional organizational and time management skills
Required Years of Experience
5+ years of relevant experience
Desired Skills
CPA License
Big 4 firm experience
Fortune 500 and/or Technology company experience with a focus on Revenue Recognition
Experience working with Oracle, Salesforce, or Ironclad
Experience working with Engineering teams to build automation and reports from large data sets
