Job description

The normal work hours for this position are Monday thru Thursday 7:00 am to 3:00 pm.

Must have previous experience working as a mechanic on a bottling line in a winery setting. Understanding the operation and complexities of the equipment listed below and be able to effect repairs of this equipment.

Job Description


  • Maintain and repair company bottling line equipment, forklifts, pumps, and all machinery on site.
  • Establish critical parts list and budget annually for acquisition.
  • Develop a master service schedule for the bottling line and production equipment. Maintain the service records.
  • Assist in budgeting and procuring new equipment as company growth warrants.
  • Manage all facility repairs and maintenance: Electrical, plumbing, Water Treatment, Air & Power Systems, filtration equipment.
  • Train all production facility staff on the safe maintenance and operations of bottling equipment.
  • Daily scheduling and prioritizing of work load to meet production and efficiency goals
  • Plan and assist in long-range scheduling
  • Complete and thorough knowledge of all SOPs
  • Maintenance of highest standard of cellar hygiene in showcase winemaking facility

    • Uphold principles and directives as outlined in the Handbook and follow safety regulations
    • Running, operating, troubleshooting and maintaining bottling line equipment (sanitation, velocrin, filler, corker, foiler, labeler, box sealer and box labeler)

  • Forklift operation to move fruit bins, barrels and case goods, etc.
  • Assume lead role to ensure safety of assets (wine, facilities and equipment)
  • Champion a well-organized, clean, and efficient work environment
  • Liaise with Owner on all facilities related issues to ensure a safe and efficient work environment
  • Update and maintenance of all SOPs as needed
  • Assist in managing spending to stay within budgetary goals
  • Other duties as assigned by Production Director and or Winemaker
  • Work with ownership in possibly acquiring additional facilities and providing overviews of such facilities as they warrant and Develop facility maintenance budgets ad best practices for operations.
  • Basic skills and experience working on a computer in both Excel and Word.


  • Annual Compensation: $40.00 per hour paid by weekly.


  • Health Insurance Kaiser provided to employee.


  • Vacation 1st Year: 40 hours

2nd and above based on company accrual system.


  • Personal Days: 24 hours


  • 401K: Employee is eligible to participate in plan 60 days after start date.

Our 401K plan is based on employee contributions and also profit-sharing contributions from the winery each year. Winery contributions can range from 3 to 10% of the employee yearly gross salary. This is not guaranteed each year and is based on company performance and profits.
