EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION: Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and skill is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required knowledge and skill would be: six (6) months of paid or volunteer experience working in a child care program. Equivalent to the completion of high school supplemented by a childcare program. Employees must complete a minimum of 12 units in Early Childhood Education, Recreation, Physical Education, Human Services, Social Welfare, Nursing, Psychology, Sociology, or Home Economics within one (1) year of probationary hire date. As an alternative to the educational prerequisite, candidates may substitute 20 training hours for each of the required units of education. CERTIFICATES: Valid First Aid & CPR Certificates.
