Job description

As an Estimator with a top multifamily General Contractor, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and detailed cost estimates, analyzing project specifications, and collaborating with project managers and subcontractors. Starting off in this position, you'll be expected to come into the office 3 days a week for training, but once training is wrapped up, it'll change to 1 day a week in office and the rest remote.

Description

  • Analyze project plans, specifications, and other relevant documents to prepare comprehensive cost estimates.
  • Collaborate with project managers and team members to identify project requirements and scope.
  • Conduct detailed quantity take-offs and cost analysis for materials, labor, and equipment.
  • Solicit and evaluate subcontractor bids and supplier quotes.
  • Assist in preparing bid proposals and presentations for clients.
  • Monitor and update cost estimates throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Stay current with industry trends, material costs, and local market conditions.
  • Participate in project meetings to provide insights on budgetary concerns and cost-saving opportunities.

Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of estimating experience in the multifamily construction sector.
  • Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
  • Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
