Job Description Must have an active (or ability to obtain and maintain) TS/SCI with Polygraph Clearance We are looking for a dedicated and experienced HSE Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that our workplace complies with all health, safety, and environmental regulations. This role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining HSE programs, policies, and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy work environment. The HSE Specialist will conduct regular inspections, risk assessments, and audits to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions. They will also be responsible for training employees on HSE practices, investigating incidents, and maintaining accurate records. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of HSE regulations, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments to promote a culture of safety. This is a critical role that requires a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks, as well as a commitment to continuous improvement in HSE performance. Responsibilities • Develop and implement HSE policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular workplace inspections and risk assessments.
• Investigate incidents and near-misses to determine root causes.
• Provide HSE training and education to employees.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal HSE regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of HSE activities and incidents.
• Collaborate with management to promote a culture of safety.
• Monitor and report on HSE performance metrics.
• Review and update HSE policies as needed.
• Advise on the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Implement corrective actions to address identified hazards.
• Participate in HSE committee meetings.
• Stay current with industry best practices and regulatory changes.
• Support the development of safety programs and initiatives.
• Conduct ergonomic assessments and recommend improvements.
• Manage hazardous materials and waste disposal processes.
• Prepare and submit HSE reports to management.
• Adhere to and support Fluor's Health, Safety & Environmental and Sustainability Polices. • Provide HSE support to Fluor's Task Order Projects Team • Other duties as assigned Notice to Candidates: Background checks are carried out as part of any conditional offer made, including (but not limited to & role dependent) education, professional registration, employment, references, passport verifications and Global Watchlist screening. Basic Job Requirements • Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and two (2) years of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to six (6) years if non-degreed; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements
• Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
• Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
• Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
