Job Description
Job Summary
The EHS Specialist is responsible for directly supporting the VWTS Analytical Instruments product line business with all elements of environmental, health, and safety for the manufacturing operations at Boulder, CO, to ensure we are providing a safe work environment for our employees and contractors. This position will be supporting and helping to improve our existing EHS program and processes and is an onsite position.
This position might include our North American field and remote employees for Analytical Instruments, and assisting the local EHS organizations in the countries our Analytical Instruments are manufactured (Hungary, China, India, etc.) in the future.

Duties & Responsibilities
- This role is expected to be focused about 90% on safety tasks and 10% on environmental tasks, though priorities may shift based on needs. In general, the EHS Specialist will:
- Foster and improve the EHS program and culture through assisting in updating and implementing site-specific EHS plans and processes such as emergency preparedness, fire prevention, job safety analysis, safe working procedures, hazardous waste management, SDS, ergonomics, contractor safety, chemical management, etc.
- Ensure conformance with all applicable federal, state, local, and corporate environmental, health and safety laws, regulations, policies and guidelines as well as applicable corporate standards through reviewing/revising EHS program documents, responding to safety concerns, conducting EHS assessments, documenting follow-up, permitting, and reporting.
- Update, deliver and record training through a variety of means including in-person, electronic, and small group meetings/huddles, and ensure all employee and contractor training is completed, documented, and maintained.
- Assign and monitor EHS activities, corrective action plans and tasks to completion and update as needed; maintain appropriate documentation.
- Investigate incidents, accidents and near misses, and assist in determining and addressing root causes.
- Compile monthly/annual metrics for internal and external reporting to support the EHS Manager.
- Participate in corporate and regulatory agency audits, provide follow-up actions, and support the OSHA Voluntary Protection Programs
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong communication skills (verbal, written, and listening)
- Effective presentation skills
- Change agent skilled at motivating others to maintain compliance
Education & Experience Required:
- High School Diploma or GED
- At least five years' experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting as an EHS professional adhering to 29 CFR 1910
- Intermediate-level use of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides)
Preferred, But Not Required:
- Professional certification in safety (e.g., ASP, CSP, GSP, CSHM, etc. or further education and/or training in an Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or Environmental Science program
- Experience implementing EHS programs and achieving measurable goals.

- Compensation - The salary range is tied to the market for similarly benchmarked roles. The range is not an absolute, but a guide, and offers will be based on the individual candidate's knowledge, skills, experience, and market conditions, as well as internal peer equity. Depending upon all the preceding considerations for the final selected individual candidate, the offer may be lower or higher than the stated range: $90,000 - 108,000 annually
