Job Title: Construction Accounting Manager/Office Manager
Job Summary: We are looking for a highly organized and proactive Construction Accounting Manager/Office Manager to oversee and manage the financial and operational aspects of our construction projects. This hands-on role involves forecasting, automation of processes, work-in-progress (WIP) reviews, reconciliations, monthly reporting packages, and managing accounts receivable (A/R) and accounts payable (A/P). The ideal candidate will have strong accounting skills, experience in the construction industry, and the ability to streamline processes while ensuring accurate financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the accounting functions related to construction projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Implement and manage automation processes to improve efficiency in accounting and office operations.
- Conduct regular work-in-progress (WIP) reviews to monitor project costs, revenues, and profitability.
- Perform detailed reconciliations of accounts, including general ledger, bank statements, and project-related accounts.
- Prepare and present monthly reporting packages, including financial statements, variance analysis, and performance metrics.
- Manage accounts receivable (A/R) and accounts payable (A/P) processes, ensuring timely and accurate billing and payments.
- Collaborate with project managers and other departments to gather financial data and provide insights for decision-making.
- Oversee office management tasks, including coordinating administrative support, maintaining office supplies, and ensuring smooth daily operations.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and relevant regulations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience in accounting and office management within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction accounting principles, including job costing, WIP accounting, and financial forecasting.
- Proficiency in accounting software and automation tools; experience with construction management software is a plus.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting and reconciliations.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting and office management, with a focus on the construction sector.
- Experience with forecasting, process automation, and financial reporting.
- Experience using Quickbooks for Accounting Purposes
- Experience with AICPA Guidelines
