Job description
Description We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced DevSecOps Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, IT operations, and security with an emphasis on automation. This role involves working closely with our development teams to integrate security measures into every phase of the software delivery process. The DevSecOps Engineer will be responsible for managing containers, virtual machines, and servers to ensure high availability and security of our applications. Key Responsibilities: Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines for a variety of software projects. Automate the configuration, deployment, and scaling of infrastructure using tools like Ansible, Terraform, or similar. Integrate automated security tools into CI/CD pipelines to ensure secure code deployment. Manage container orchestration systems such as Kubernetes or Docker Swarm to deploy microservices efficiently. Maintain and improve our virtual machine and server infrastructure for performance and reliability. Work with version control systems like GitLab to manage codebases and automate build/test/deploy cycles. Collaborate with IT and development teams to ensure continuous delivery and continuous integration of software while adhering to best practices in security. Perform proactive security assessments and vulnerability testing to identify potential threats. Create and maintain detailed documentation of configurations, procedures, and security practices. Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to suggest and implement improvements to existing processes and tools. Qualifications Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience with 5 years experience or additional experience in lieu of a degree. Proven experience in DevOps, systems administration, or software development. Strong experience with container technologies like Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes. Experience with virtualization and virtual machine management tools. Knowledge of server hardware, including on-premises and cloud-based solutions. Expertise in automation and scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell. Familiarity with GitLab and integration of security tools into CI/CD pipelines. Understanding of code quality and security standards. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Strong communication and collaboration skills. CompTIA Security+ Desirable Skills: Certifications in cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), Kubernetes, or security (e.g., CISSP, CEH). E xperience with infrastructure as code (IAC) tools, such as Terraform or CloudFormation. Understanding of network security, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and data encryption. Familiarity with compliance standards and regulations (e.g., SOC 2, GD PR, HIPAA). Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors. SAIC accepts applications on an ongoing basis and there is no deadline. Covid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters. Customer site vaccination requirements must be followed when work is performed at a customer site.
