Program Overview: The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program is the integrating element of the Missile Defense System. It is a vital operational system that enables the U.S. president, secretary of defense and combatant commanders at strategic, regional and operational levels to systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations, to collectively see the battle develop, and to dynamically manage designated networked sensors and weapons systems to achieve global and regional mission objectives. C2BMC supports a layered missile defense capability that enables an optimized response to threats of all ranges in all phases of flight. C2BMC is the force multiplier that globally and regionally networks, integrates and synchronizes autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations to optimize performance. C2BMC is an integral part of all system ground and flight tests which verify and exercise all current and future missile defense system capabilities. Job Responsibilities: Provide technical expertise and support in developing and analysis of complex algorithms in support of new BMDS capabilities as part of the Global Agile Release Train (ART). The candidate will assist in the execution, analysis, and trades of Track Server algorithms over large data sets. The candidate will also participate in developing and documenting complex algorithms, how those algorithms are applied in application software, and create and validate as needed test sets to prove proper implementations. This position will report to the Global ART EPM, and be responsible to the Global Architect Lead for adhering to architectural guidance as part of implementation. Required Skills: Candidate must have experience working in the missile defense or related domains including operational and technical knowledge of topics such as engagement management, track management, sensor management. The applicant should be well versed in the utilization of Data Analytics to analyze system performance on large data sets, to visualize complex data sets, and performing trades on algorithm implementations. Proven track record of successfully applying system engineering principles to develop product solutions. Experience with BMDS systems is highly desired. Direct experience in one or more of the following algorithm domains is highly desired: target tracking, target classification, target prediction. Experience in developing Algorithm Description Documents (ADDs) is desired. Candidate should be experienced in technical interaction with government customers. A working knowledge of software development processes and transitioning algorithms into production software is strongly desired, as is knowledge of Object-Oriented Analysis and Design principles. Candidate must possess an understanding of Algorithm design techniques, and Kinematic/ Dynamic System modeling. Candidates should also have experience working in an integrated team environment with other systems, software and specialty engineers to develop solutions. Excellent communications skills are required (written and oral) as is the ability to communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings. Occasional trvel to Schriever SFB or other OCONUS locations as required. Desired Skills: Experience working with Machine Learning/Artificial Intelligence, Optimal control, State Estimation, Statistical Analysis, Stochastic processes, Target Tracking/Correlation, and Orbital Mechanics.
