Job description

Overview LMI is seeking a skilled Mid or Senior-level Space Domain Operations Analyst, with position, navigation, and timing experience, at our headquarters office in Colorado Springs, CO supporting U.S. Space Command's (USSPACECOM's) advanced analytics staff with modeling, simulation, and analysis across the breadth of USSPACECOM's Unified Command Plan responsibilities. Successful LMI Space Domain Operations Analysts demonstrate competency in critical thinking, relationship management, space domain understanding, model-based system engineering, and data analysis while upholding the highest standard of ethical behavior. Responsibilities Engage with USSPACECOM senior leaders and USSPACECOM space-related customers to understand their space-related analysis needs and translate them into work products. Understand, manage, and translate current and Future Operational Concepts (FOCs), campaign and operations scenarios, and platform and system specs into representative simulations for assessing space systems, capabilities, missions, operations, and architectures. Develop, refine, and curate model based system engineering (MBSE) Systems Modeling Language (SysML) data models as the foundation for modeling, simulation, and analysis through collaboration with government and industry organizations. Actively participate in Agile analytical sprint processes and ceremonies. Collaborate with software developers to ensure space-related Modeling, Simulation and Analysis (MS&A) frameworks and tools accurately represent agent-based platforms, systems, and architectures. Collaborate with data scientists and other analytical experts to guide advanced analytical approaches and evaluate results. Collaborate within and across small Government-Contractor-FFRDC teams and their respective Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to refine MBSE data. Dive into research on technical development aspects (e.g., space orbit astrodynamics, unique DoD systems functionality) to ensure platform and system models are accurate. Demonstrate your analytical products to customers. Qualifications MINIMUM Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with 5 - 15 years of professional experience or master's degree in a STEM field with 3 - 13 years of professional experience. May substitute educational degree for experience. Space domain operations experience and understanding in multiple areas of: space-based positioning, navigation and timing; astrodynamics; orbital mechanics; rendezvous and proximity operations; satellite communications; missile warning/missile defense; remote sensing; environmental monitoring; command and control; battle management; and space domain awareness Relevant joint space warfighting experience in an operational, science and technology, or operational test organization Exposure to modeling, simulation, and analysis tools. Proven track record of engaging with customers, product users, and coworkers to create innovative solutions to complex problems. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SharePoint. Possess a natural curiosity and desire to challenge yourself and those around you. Ability to brief USSPACECOM senior leaders on your findings and analytic models. This position requires an active security clearance at the Top Secret level, with Sensitive Compartmented Information eligibility. You must be a US Citizen. DESIRED Prior experience working in a Joint Environment or Combatant Command. Prior experience working with or in 2 nd Space Operations Squadron or PNT Space Delta. Prior experience working in or with the Joint Navigation Warfare Center (JNWC). Experience using GPS Interference And Navigation Tool (GIANT). Graduate of Space 100, 200, or 300 Ability to code in relevant language (Python preferred, MATLAB acceptable) to support modeling, simulation and data analytics. Experience with database languages (MongoDB preferred). Planning or participating in joint military utility assessments. Experience with Systems Modeling Language (SysML). Experience using Scrum. Experience using Model Based System Engineering software (Cameo Systems Modeler preferred) Experience using orbital analysis visualization tools, such as Systems ToolKit, FreeFlyer, Space Domain Characterization and Control System Target salary range: $102,000 - $180,000. Final compensation will be determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to your skills, experience, education, and/or certifications.
