Job description

Sev1Tech is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Network Operations Center (NOC) Technician. This critical role supports the seamless, reliable operation of network services and components essential to the United States Space Force's (USSF) meshONE-T mission. As a NOC Technician, your primary responsibility will be to monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain the integrity of the meshONE-T mission's network infrastructure. Your work will contribute directly to the successful execution of the USSF's meshONE capability, which encompasses all mediums, environments, and warfighting domains.

This position operates on a shift-based schedule to provide continuous operational coverage. You will be on the front lines, responding to incidents, analyzing network performance, and collaborating with teams to ensure network resilience and stability across the ground components of the broader meshONE capability. You will deliver end-to-end network solutions that support United States Air Force, USSF missions, and associated mission partners.

Regularly evaluate network performance and implement improvements or adjustments to meet mission objectives. Collaborate across functional areas to resolve issues and enhance network availability for mission partners.
  • Advanced Issue Resolution: Diagnose and resolve intricate network issues, often involving multiple systems or requiring in-depth knowledge of network protocols. Rapidly identify and troubleshoot network issues, escalate as necessary, and take appropriate actions to resolve service disruptions. Monitor adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and ensure timely interventions. Specialists are expected to handle escalations from technicians.
  • Incident Management Leadership: Lead incident management, initiating response protocols, coordinating with senior stakeholders, and ensuring comprehensive documentation and communication with mission partners.
  • Strategic System Maintenance: Engage in higher-level system optimization, working closely with engineering teams to implement long-term improvements, scalability initiatives, and system-wide upgrades. Assist in maintaining and optimizing network hardware, software, and configurations to enhance network performance, scalability, and resilience.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Generate detailed performance reports and provide strategic recommendations for network improvements based on thorough analysis.
  • Project Involvement: Participate in or lead special projects such as new technology deployments, network architecture reviews, or optimization efforts. Specialists often contribute to the design and planning phases.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with network engineers, IT teams, and external vendors to align network-related activities with organizational goals and mission partner requirements.
  • Compliance & Security: Ensure all network activities comply with security protocols, organizational standards, and regulatory requirements to protect sensitive operations.
  • Management: Effectively manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, mission-oriented environment, while maintaining attention to detail and high-quality performance.
  • Communication: Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills, ensuring clear and precise interaction with team members, leadership, and mission partners.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay current with evolving trends, emerging technologies, and industry best practices in network operations, security, and defense-related innovations.
  • Mentorship and Training: Assist in training and mentoring NOC Technicians and other staff members, ensuring knowledge transfer and adherence to best practices.
