Job description
HOURS: Full-time, 40 hours per week SALARY: $89,814-$104,000 per year EMPLOYER: Semtech Corporation JOBSITE: 10045 Federal Drive Colorado Springs, CO 80908 Job Duties: Perform quality assurance engineering duties related to specialized semiconductor packaging, manufacturing, and assembly processes. Work as part of a multi-discipline team to resolve issues, report audit findings, and drive continuous improvement in quality management systems for the Colorado Springs (Federal Way) manufacturing site. Responsible for managing all quality audit activities, including conducting audits regarding process validation, qualification of changes, new products, and materials. Characterize assembly manufacturing processes with statistical analysis, failure mode effects analysis (FMEA), and finite element analysis (FEA) for product process development and to ensure reliability and robust manufacturing. Oversee continuous improvement, and achieve quality excellence through the application of best audit practices in areas such as risk-based thinking, new product introduction (NPI), process qualification and validation, product and process control, root cause analysis, and change control. Lead the internal audit program for both semiconductor manufacturing sites in Colorado Springs, per ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 standards. Optimize new and current packaging processes by employing statistical process control (SPC) and lean six sigma tools (Minitab), and perform root cause analysis for product and customer issues. Design and create control plans for semiconductor manufacturing processes, using Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG) and Verband der Automobilindustrie (VDA) methodologies. Oversee the development of quality management systems to ensure procedures meet industry standards, such as IATF 16949 and ISO 9001. Plan, create, and manage quality planning strategies, and support the manufacturing site in achieving corporate quality compliance. Identify key performance indicators (KPIs), and review product quality in order to improve customer satisfaction. Develop and manage production part approval process (PPAP) submission levels to ensure customer requirements are met for various products. Oversee quality check and supplier management for incoming wafers and substrates from suppliers. Perform gage repeatability and reproducibility (Gage R&R) to evaluate silicon thickness and die shear strength measurement systems, per the AIAG methodology. Research and collect quality data, and recommend solutions for identified product issues. Utilize audit findings and corrective actions to resolve issues and establish meaningful quality improvements and best practices. Use good oral and written communication skills to prepare and present reports and metrics to senior management. Collaborate with the product development team on continuous improvement projects and to ensure consistent project execution. Requirements: 1. Masters degree in Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering or related engineering field, and 1 year of experience as a Quality Assurance Engineer, Industrial/Manufacturing Engineer, or related engineering occupation in the manufacturing industry. 2.
