Job description

Description We are looking for an experienced System Administrator to manage and enhance our IT infrastructure in a DoD environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in VMware and Windows Server, networking, system security, and Active Directory management, along with proficiency in tools such as Jira and SharePoint. Key Responsibilities: Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server environments, including Active Directory and Group Policy management. Manage and optimize VMware virtualization technologies. Implement and maintain system security protocols in accordance with DoD standards. Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues. Perform system patching and updates to ensure compliance and security. Administer and support SharePoint and Jira for project management and collaboration. Document system configurations, procedures, and security policies. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance system functionality and security. Stay updated on the latest technologies and best practices in system administration. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience) with 2 years experience, or additional experience can be used in lieu of a degree. Active Secret clearance with ability to obtain a TS/SCI. Security + certification is required. Proven experience as a System Administrator in a DoD or similarly regulated environment. Strong experience with VMware and virtualization technologies. Strong experience with Windows Server administration. In-depth knowledge of networking protocols and system security best practices. Experience managing Active Directory, Group Policies, and user permissions. Proficiency in Windows Server administration and management. Familiarity with SharePoint and Jira for project collaboration. Experience with system patching and update management. Understanding of DoD compliance requirements and security standards. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills. Preferred Certifications: Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate. VMware Certified Professional (VCP). Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA). Target salary range: $80,001 - $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors. SAIC accepts applications on an ongoing basis and there is no deadline. Covid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters. Customer site vaccination requirements must be followed when work is performed at a customer site.
