This position is full time on-site in Colorado Springs, CO ACTIVE Secret Security Clearance Required JOB SUMMARY: We are looking for a skilled System Engineer to help contribute to our Mission Engineering team environment with other systems, software and specialty engineers to develop solutions that includes a background in all aspects of the systems engineering life cycle. You will be part of a talented team of engineers that demonstrate superb technical competency, delivering mission critical infrastructure and ensuring the highest levels of availability, performance and security. The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program is the integrating element of the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS). It is a vital operational system that enables the U.S. President, Secretary of Defense and Combatant Commanders at strategic, regional and operational levels to systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations, to collectively see the battle develop, and to dynamically manage designated networked sensors and weapons systems to achieve global and regional mission objectives. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: Integration of the C2BMC system into the MDIOC C2BMC Testbed and the Operational systems.
Integration activity to ensure the install matches the Configuration Managed baseline and to verify settings and operations. Test activity to exercise high level functions and capabilities to ensure no change from the test environment.
Work with servers and workstations that are both Linux and Windows based, using virtual servers. Integration includes troubleshooting of the installed software to identify resolutions if the system is incorrectly installed or if settings are incorrect. Troubleshooting includes common issues and activities that most System Administrators should have the knowledge to identify and resolve. QUALIFICATIONS: Candidate must be a self-starter with good communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills and an ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
Candidate must be able to cooperatively develop integration plans/procedures from sources such as functional/performance requirements and stated technical capabilities, monitor the integration of the test resources, execute these detailed integration procedures, analyze integration results, and present the results orally and in written format.
Candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, must be able to work effectively and cooperatively with people within and external to the program, and must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Candidate should have experience in troubleshooting of small to large scale infrastructure.
Linux and Windows experience required.
Virtual Server experience preferred
Ideal candidate should have either knowledge of or practical experience with industry or DoD test methodologies and terminology.
Experience with operational systems (e.g. Aegis, Patriot), development systems (e.g. GMD, THAAD, Aegis), and off-the-shelf statistical analysis packages a plus.
For this position, network architecture and device knowledge and scripting skills for data mining and formatted display of data are a plus. Experience within the Mission Defense realm and previous test and integration experience are also very useful. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS: BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject preferred
