Overview Bowhead seeks a GMD Training Specialist to support the United States Army Space and Missile Defense Command (USASMDC), Space and Missile Defense (SDM) Center of Excellence (SMDCoE) also known as the US SMD School. SMD School (SMDS) core functions include: 1) Educate, train, and develop leaders for Space and Missile Defense operations; 2) Develop Army Doctrine for Space, High Altitude, and Global Missile Defense; 3) Develop individual and collective training tasks for Space and Missile Defense operations; 4) Train and educate the Army at large in Space and Missile Defense; and 5) Execute the US Army's Quality Assurance Program to ensure standards are met in the education, training, and leadership development of Soldiers and Civilians. This position will provide support to the Missile Defense Training Division (MDTD). Responsibilities • Provide subject matter expertise and knowledge of missile defense capabilities and support to Army operations. • Conduct training on Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD) operations and GMD Fire Control (GFC) operations. • Analyze, design, develop, implement, evaluate, and maintain education and training in accordance with TR 350-70 series and Army accreditation standards • Conduct research on new threats and emerging Army missile defense capabilities, update existing training materials as necessary, and develop new training materials after analyzing the results of the research. Research shall include coordination with other SMDS training divisions to ensure training materials updated or developed are current, accurate, and aligned with Army School institutional training materials. • Travel to conduct training as required. Qualifications • Minimum of a High School education. • 5+ years of missile defense, radar, or C2BMC related military experience. • Understanding of missile defense fundamentals and missile defense operations. • Experience and understanding of military operations. • Experience with Command and Control (C2) systems such as GMD, C2BMC, ADSI, Tac Planner, etc. • Experience evaluating personnel. • Excellent written and oral communication skills. • Experience using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. • Previous instructor-facilitator experience. • Ability to brief higher ranking officials. • Understand the MDMP process. • Ability to articulate missile defense to non-missile defense personnel. • Knowledge and understanding of the ADDIE model. • Ability to travel as required to provide training. Desired Knowledge/Skills • MOSQ: 14A, 14H, 140A with ASI , T3, Y7, 3Y and/or ASI D4 • Graduate of a military instructor training course (CFD-IC, ITC/SGITC, FIFC, ABIC, AFBIC, etc.). • GFC Qualification Course, GMD Leader Development Course, GMD Master Gunner Course, Army GMD Staff Course, GMD Missile Defense Officer Course, GMD NORAD/NORTHCOM Command and Control Course, GMD System Trainer Course, Sensor Manager Qualification Course, or other relevant space or missile defense courses. • Previous assignments in GMD. • Work well with other professionals in an office environment. • Ability to perform quality research on capabilities/limitations of the GFC. SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level (or higher) and be eligible for Top Secret/SCI level. US Citizenship is a requirement at this location.
