Job Title: Upper School Academic Interventionist (Mathematics)

Reports To: Assistant Head of Upper School - Academics

Compensation:

• Pay Range: $43,000 - $55,000
• Benefits: For employees contracted for 30 hours per week or more, Thomas MacLaren School pays for 100% of the employee's base plan insurance premiums (Health, Dental, Vision, Long-term and Short-term disability, Accidental Death and Dismemberment insurance, and Life insurance) for the base level coverages. No benefits are provided to employees contracted for less than 30 hours per week.

General Purpose: To afford students access to the general education curriculum, especially in math, while being a member of the Upper School faculty.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Member of the MTSS team

• Primary Math Interventionist
  • Gathers and reviews data for students to help determine need for Tier II and III math intervention, in coordination with MTSS team
  • Assesses student skills to determine needs and to develop teaching strategies.
  • Creates schedule for math intervention in coordination with AHOS
  • Gives math intervention, delegating to teachers or Academic Specialists as appropriate
  • Progress monitor students receiving math intervention
  • Works with classroom teachers and various teams to monitor math intervention effectiveness and progress
  • Trains faculty and support staff in interventions as needed
• Research and provide information and guidance on effective and pedagogically-aligned assessment and intervention practices in mathematics.
• Assists with other intervention and MTSS work as directed by AHOS - Academics
• Attends New Teacher Training each summer.
• Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be qualified to be an Upper School faculty member

Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience: Demonstrated ability to serve well as Thomas MacLaren teacher. Math intervention experience and experience with the Multi-Tiered System of Supports model required.
