Construction Billing Specialist
Our client has been a leader in providing high-quality environmental services to the Denver Metro Area. We stay at the forefront of our industry by consistently implementing best management practices (BMPs) in soil erosion and stormwater control. Our comprehensive range of products and services includes soil stabilization, dust suppression, sediment control, street sweeping, land reclamation, spill response remediation, as well as water quality and detention pond management. Additionally, we offer consulting services that encompass design, training, audits, and inspections. We are looking to add a Construction Billing Specialist to our team.
Position Overview for Construction Billing Specialist:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive individual to join our team in the following capacity:
- Invoice Management: Produce daily invoices and oversee the collection of customer payments to ensure timely cash flow.
- Reconciliation: Accurately reconcile work orders against customer invoices to maintain financial integrity.
- Template Maintenance: Maintain Time & Material rate templates within the billing system under the direction of the Manager.
- Purchase Orders: Issue and match purchase orders with invoices, ensuring timely closure of accounts.
- Issue Resolution: Escalate unresolved issues appropriately while recommending solutions to minimize future occurrences.
- Collaboration: Construction Billing Specialist will work closely with Operations and Project Managers both in the office and in the field to understand ongoing projects and their financial requirements.
- Account Management: Identify past due accounts, document their status, and manage follow-up tasks effectively.
- Discrepancy Resolution: Research customer discrepancies and past-due amounts, and communicate with customers as needed to facilitate prompt payments.
- Customer Service: Provide a high level of customer service by addressing client inquiries professionally and directing concerns to the appropriate managers.
- Billing Entry: Enter bills and monitor vendor and customer aging as necessary.
- Client Relations: Offer professional assistance to both new and existing customers regarding accounts receivable, fostering strong relationships.
- Insurance Certificates: Ensure the timely issuance of certificates of insurance to all customers.
- Lien Waivers: Execute lien waivers accurately and efficiently.
- Financial Support: Assist the Controller and VP of Finance and Administration with the month-end close process as required.
- Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Knowledge:
The ideal candidate for Construction Billing Specialist will possess:
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment
- A strong work ethic and the capability to work collaboratively as well as independently
- Knowledge of residential maintenance billing, including Schedule of Values (SOVs), is a plus
- Previous experience with complex project invoicing and time/material billing
- Independent thinking and problem-solving skills
