Job description

Job Title: Sprinkler Estimator

Position Type: Full-Time

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Sprinkler Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience in estimating fire sprinkler systems for new construction and retrofit projects across multifamily and commercial sectors. This role requires proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural, electrical, and mechanical drawings, a strong knowledge of industry codes, and familiarity with various system types and manufacturers.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Estimating and Takeoff:
  • Develop accurate cost estimates for fire sprinkler systems for new construction and retrofit projects.
  • Use estimating and takeoff tools to quantify materials, labor, and other project requirements.

System Knowledge:


  • Evaluate and estimate costs for a variety of fire sprinkler system types and manufacturers.
  • Stay updated on the latest system technologies and product offerings.

Technical Analysis:


  • Review and interpret architectural, electrical, and mechanical drawings to prepare detailed estimates.
  • Ensure all estimates are in compliance with industry standards and codes.

Code Compliance:


  • Apply strong knowledge of industry codes, including NFPA and FFPC, to ensure estimates meet all regulatory requirements.
  • Advise on code compliance issues and recommend solutions as needed.

Collaboration and Communication:


  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather information and clarify project requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and vendors to provide accurate cost information and address any questions or concerns.

Qualifications:

Experience:


  • Minimum of 3 years of experience estimating fire sprinkler systems for new construction and retrofits, including multifamily and commercial projects.

Technical Skills:


  • Proven ability to read and interpret architectural, electrical, and mechanical drawings.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, as well as estimating and takeoff tools.

Certifications:


  • NICET II certification is preferred, or equivalent accumulated experience.

Knowledge:


  • Strong understanding of industry codes, including NFPA and FFPC.

Abilities:


  • Ability to analyze project documents and provide accurate and competitive estimates.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail.
