Job description

Our client, a dynamic and expanding Colorado Design group, is actively seeking a talented Senior Water Resources Engineer / Project Manager to join their thriving team at their Lakewood, Colorado office. This is a fantastic chance for a motivated individual to take on a leadership role, manage complex projects, and contribute to the growth of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a subject matter expert in water resources design and analysis.
  • Develop, evaluate, and design stormwater management facilities to support public works infrastructure projects.
  • Conduct stormwater and drainage system analysis and modeling.
  • Lead a variety of water resource projects, including stormwater systems, drainage design, flood studies, watershed plans, and erosion/sediment control.
  • Collaborate with clients and design team members to ensure project success.
  • Provide support for projects in construction through office and site visits.
  • Prepare permit applications for oversight agencies and address environmental issues associated with water resources projects.
  • Lead tasks, plan budgets, and manage subcontractors.
  • Prepare construction plans, specifications, design reports, and technical documents.
  • Work collaboratively with other disciplines to find creative solutions to design challenges.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
  • Eight (8) to Twelve (12) years of experience in Civil Water Resources or Transportation Engineering.
  • Colorado PE license.
  • Experience with CDOT, MHFD, and/or local Colorado county/municipality projects.
  • Proficiency in MicroStation, AutoCAD, and GIS.
  • Familiarity with SWMM, HEC-RAS, HY-8, TR-55, TR-20, or other related software.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with Open Roads Designer.
  • Additional experience in Texas (TxDOT and/or other county/municipalities).
