The SI&T Effectors department is looking for a technical support engineer to work with a team of engineers to execute tests within our engineering laboratories. Assignments will include lab operations, system maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of existing electronic, electromechanical, mechanical, laboratory and scientific systems and/or equipment within the laboratory.

What You Will Do

You will work from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform prototyping or building of cabling and electrical components in support of engineering testing. You will learn how to operate the engineering development stations, including the use of both Windows and Linux operating systems with a focus on thoroughness and repeatability using documented procedures, as well as assisting in developing new procedures. An understanding of basic troubleshooting, integration, and test equipment desired. This position requires a strong desire and ability for working in a team environment within WPC engineering laboratories, completing hardware and software test set up, generating test data, and reviewing test output used by engineers to determine laboratory functionality.

U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance as of day one of employment.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 4 years relevant experience with electronics.
  • Experience and understanding of troubleshooting, analysis, and characterization techniques
  • Basic knowledge test equipment, such as spectrum analyzer, network analyzer, oscilloscope and DMMs.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience with Windows or Linux operating systems
  • Knowledge of equipment rack assembly, cable assembly/installation, and electronics maintenance
  • Knowledge of test equipment such as data acquisition systems, oscilloscopes, bus analyzers, logic analyzers, network analyzers, and/or spectrum analyzers
  • Experience troubleshooting systems using general test equipment, such as data acquisition systems, oscilloscopes, bus analyzers, logic analyzers, network analyzers, and/or spectrum analyzers

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 83,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
