Maxar has an immediate opening for an Accountant in Westminster, CO. In this role, you will be a member of a highly collaborative team reporting to the Manager of Accounting. You will be responsible for, but not limited to, preparing journal entries, completing account reconciliations and supporting the month end and quarter end close processes.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Calculate, review and process journal entries for month end and quarter end close
  • Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations, including cash/bank reconciliations
  • Analyze and research outstanding liabilities to create month end accruals
  • Partner with business units to research and reconcile Intercompany transactions
  • Provide analysis of operating results and financial position
  • Build cross-functional relationships
  • Work with internal and external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance
  • Collaborate with other business units and teams for ongoing process improvement efforts
  • Special Project assignments - Support and or participate on special projects

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant accounting experience
  • Experience with U.S. GAAP
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of SAP
  • Experience with internal controls
  • Ability to work independently, be a self-starter, and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, deadline-oriented environment while also knowing when to ask questions to better understand the process / issue.
  • Ability to work well in a team and with people in other functions and locations
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and written and verbal communication skills.

We use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range. To accommodate all locations, we have listed the bottom to the top of the possible range, and will share the target range for a specific location during the recruiting discussion. Individual pay will be competitive based on a candidates unique set of knowledge, skills, and geographic diversity, with earnings potential commensurate with experience. The range for this position is:

$53,000.00 - $114,000.00 annually.
