Job description

At The Hand Center in Connecticut, a highly skilled and educated team of board-certified doctors, surgeons, and physician assistants diagnose and treat conditions of the hands and upper extremities. With five convenient offices in Hartford, Glastonbury, Tolland, Farmington and Bloomfield, Connecticut, patients receive comprehensive care for many conditions and ailments affecting their hands, wrists, elbows, and shoulders.

In addition to treating common conditions like arthritis, carpal tunnel syndrome, tendonitis, and ganglion cysts, the experienced surgeons treat complex conditions of the hand that affect the nerves, bones, tendons, and skin. In-house hand therapists work closely with the surgeons to provide comprehensive hand care under one roof. The medical team is experienced in diagnosing and treating pediatric hand disorders and provides treatment for work-related injuries and sports injuries.

Overview:

Busy hand surgery/ orthopedic practice in Glastonbury seeking a Per-diem Radiologic Technologist. Travel to satellite offices within greater Hartford area is required. At The Hand Center our physicians and staff are dedicated, amiable, enjoy their work, and are enthusiastic about helping patients.

RESPONSIBILITIES include but not limited to:
Knowledge of X-ray procedures and protocols.
Knowledge of anatomy and physiology necessary to perform X-ray testing including body mechanics and patient movement.
Knowledge of radiology equipment including safety hazards common to radiology.
Skill in positioning patients properly.
Skill in identifying equipment problems and correcting or notifying supervisor.
Skill in following infection control and radiological safety procedures.
Ability to lift and position patients for the type of X-ray procedure required.
Ability to apply written instructions and standardized work practices.
Ability to operate DR and CR radiological equipment used for medical diagnosis and treatment.

Requirements/Qualifications:
Associate degree in radiological technology from accredited Radiologic Technologist program.
One to three years of experience as a Radiological Technologist preferred.
ARRT Certification Required
Valid current CT License Required
Computer skills including familiarity with electronic medical records.
Detailed oriented with excellent interpersonal communication skills

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
