Leidos is seeking a full-time Research Assistant to join the Regional Hearing Conservation Team at Naval Submarine Base New London. (NSMRL). The Research Assistant will work collaboratively with the full research team, including the Principal Investigator, Research Audiologist, Research Engineer, and Research Coordinator. The Challenge: Provide scientific and technical assistance to complete laboratory and/or field-based research. Follow and contribute to the development of laboratory and equipment standard operating procedures. Use experimental equipment to investigate hearing protection devices and communication systems. Generate, maintain, and organize study documentation, study progress documents, and study equipment inventories. Perform data entry and data validation. Review, prepare, and contribute to project materials, reports, and manuscripts. Participate collaboratively in team meetings. Identify equipment and supplies necessary to fulfill study requirements. Generate tables, graphs, and other simple data visualizations. Setup, test, and troubleshoot experimental equipment. Execute all aspects of research participant recruiting. Coordinate with participants and other research personnel to ensure successful protocol execution. Adhere to and implement scientific review board and institutional board review procedures. May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed. This may include attendance and participation in required training for this role. What Sets You Apart: Bachelor's degree in a field related to hearing science (e.g., acoustics) or hearing science related coursework. Proven capability to understand and follow a research study protocol, obtain training, and seek assistance when needed, and accurately perform or assess required protocol procedures. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to interact and effectively communicate both written and orally with a wide variety of people. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. The ideal candidate must be detail-oriented, able to take initiative, and work well both independently and in a team environment. Ability to acquire, at a minimum, a SECRET classification access level. Preference will be given to a candidate who already has this clearance level, but current clearance is not required. Due to Federal contract requirements, US citizenship is required. Maintain a valid driver's license and a safe driving record. Work is to be primarily performed on a government installation. The normal work week is Monday through Friday 0800 to 1630. Some offsite travel ( 10%) may be required for data collection efforts, presentations, etc. You Might Also Have: Familiarity with HIPAA and PHI/PII compliance. Pay Range: Pay Range $37,050.00 - $66,975.00 The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
