Position Summary

The Staff Psychiatrist is responsible for providing effective and efficient medical/psychiatric oversight for adolescent aged clients (14 - 17 y/o) enrolled in the Turnbridge Adolescent Residential Programs.

Duties and Responsibilities
Provide direct psychiatric/medical care to patients
Collaborate across disciplines through clinical team meetings, case conferences, etc.
Identify high acuity cases, disposition issues, and other clinical issues and address with the Medical Director from a risk management perspective
Participate in case conferences weekly
Collaborate with other departments, agencies and physicians to help ensure quality/standard of care
Participate in academic research and assessment
Other duties as assigned

Job Competencies
Provide patient Care that is compassionate, appropriate, and effective for the treatment of substance use and/or co-occurring disorders.
Possesses medical knowledge about established and evolving biomedical and clinical sciences and the application of this knowledge to adolescent psychiatric care
Possesses interpersonal and communication Skills that result in effective information exchange and teaming with patients, their families, and other health professionals
Evidences professionalism, as manifested through a commitment to carrying out professional responsibilities, adherence to ethical principles, and sensitivity to a diverse patient population

Minimum Requirements
Board Certified (or Board Eligible psychiatrist if within 5 years of residency)
Experience in child and adolescent psychiatry
Experience with a multidisciplinary team treatment model.
State of CT, Department of Public Health medical license; DEA
