As a Mechanical Engineer II, you will: Work on a team at the Engineering Services Directorate to provide engineering support for the United States Submarine Force. Obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance to work on government sponsored projects in support of submarine special mission deployments. A week in the life of a Mechanical Engineer II: Develops submarine shipboard alterations. Conduct static analyses of mechanical structures. Conduct hydrodynamic analyses under a variety of at-sea operational conditions. Develop models to predict performance. Assist the Design Team with material selection based on in-process stress calculations as well as commercial and/or military specifications. Conduct quality assurance reviews of design and engineering products Interface with customers and government sponsors. Job Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Civil or Structural Engineering. Eligible to obtain a secret clearance At least 2+ years of professional experience in: AutoCAD and AutoDesk Inventor or Solidworks MATHCAD Engineering Mathematics Software (or similar software) Founded in 1975, AMERICAN SYSTEMS is one of the largest employee-owned companies in the United States.
