Job description

We are seeking an experienced full-time Senior Human Resources Specialist to become an important part of a rapidly growing team for our Administrative offices in Pawcatuck, CT. This position is responsible for supporting and administering the company's Human Resources programs, policies and procedures in a legally compliant manner while balancing the unique needs of a company that provides agile advanced technology solutions for emerging challenges in both national security and commercial markets. We work on exciting, technically challenging, research & development programs where multidisciplinary teams work closely to address difficult national security needs. You will work in a small company environment where technical and administrative excellence is rewarded and an entrepreneurial spirit is encouraged. Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field, or 10 or more years of demonstrated experience as an HR Generalist in lieu of an HR degree;
• In addition to educational/experience requirements above; at least 5 years of additional Human Resources experience;
• Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality;
• Must possess strong interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills; and
• SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, CHRP, or similar certification is strongly preferred Job Functions and Responsibilities: • Contribute to the oversight and administration of human resource programs including but not limited to benchmarking and updating compensation programs; maintaining competitive benefits programs, including medical and dental benefits; and enhancing performance and learning management systems and offerings including training and development programs;
• Support the onboarding and off-boarding of employees;
• Contribute to the development of, or updates to, HR policies and procedures to maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations;
• Support the performance management process including performance reviews, as well as handling complaints, investigations, and performance improvement plans, as well as disciplinary matters;
• Conduct or assist with audits and filing mandatory reports, which may include I-9 audits, EEO-1 filings, Affirmative Action Plans, and other compliance reviews;
• Support implementation of HRIS systems or modifying current systems/processes to streamline workflow and collect and report critical data and important HR metrics;
• Support payroll processing as required;
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation;
• Maintain the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records;
• Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in HR, talent management, and employment law; and
• Perform other duties as may be assigned.
