Integrated Talent Strategies (ITS) is working with a leading manufacturer who is looking to add an experienced SR Tool Maker to their expanding team. Please apply now for immediate consideration
The Tool Maker produces precision components from various materials, including tooling, inspection gauges, machine parts, jigs, and fixtures for use in all types of manufacturing equipment and processes.

This is a first shift opening.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate manual saws (both circular and band), lathes, and milling machines.
  • Perform heat treatments on various materials.
  • Understand and apply knowledge of tool steel grades for appropriate uses.
  • Operate CNC, PLC, automatic, and manual machinery for precise machining tasks.
  • Use a variety of inspection and measurement tools, including rulers, calipers, micrometers, depth gauges, indicators, bore gauges, optical comparators, and profilometers.
  • Maintain personal measuring equipment, including micrometers (0-3"), depth micrometers (0-6"), steel rulers, telescope gauges, small hole gauges, dial indicators, and necessary tools like wrenches and edge finders.
  • Interpret and work from industry-standard drawings, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Design and fabricate jigs and fixtures for work-holding during machining.

Work in at least one of the following trade specialties:
  • Carbide Specialty
  • Manufacturing carbide components using techniques like brazing, shrink fitting, grinding, and EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining).
  • Polish, lap, and finish complex carbide dies and punches.
  • Understand carbide grades and their ideal applications.
  • Grinding Specialty
  • Perform all types of grinding operations, including surface grinding, cylindrical grinding, jig grinding, and form grinding.
  • Knowledge of grinding wheels and their best applications.
  • CNC Specialty
  • Program, edit, and operate CNC machinery, including milling, lathe work, and CNC grinding.
  • Experience with CNC Wire EDM and EDM drills is preferred.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience (including apprenticeship time).
  • Demonstrated proficiency in at least one trade specialty (Carbide, Grinding, or CNC), ensuring tasks are performed safely and precisely with minimal supervision.
  • Capable of producing components that meet the specifications of industry-standard drawings or sketches.
