Job description

ChristianaCare Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation is looking for an Office Assistant.

Physical medicine and rehabilitation are a branch of medicine that focuses on medical conditions affecting the brain, spinal cord, nervous system, bones, joints, tendons, and ligaments. Doctors who specialize in this branch of medicine are called physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R) physicians, or physiatrists. Physiatrists treat people of all ages and are focused on helping people overcome injuries, illnesses, and disabling conditions, such as stroke. You will join a fantastic team of three physicians, one physician assistant, and two medical assistants.

Work Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday from 8am to 4:30pm
  • This position is on-site and rotates between Newark & Wilmington campuses.

Job duties & responsibilities:

You will handle various tasks such as answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, and registering patients. You will represent the practice and handle multi-line telephones, manage the front desktop, collect insurance payments, apply ICD9 and CPT4 codes for billing, and perform outreach calls. You will interact with physicians, staff, and patients to provide accurate communication and customer service. You will need to possess excellent time management, multitasking, and communication skills, and can build professional relationships in a team environment.

Education Requirements:

  • High School Graduate or GED required.
  • Medical receptionist or medical assistant degree preferred but not required.
  • Experience in a medical office setting or customer service environment is preferred but not required.
