ChristianaCare Wilmington Adult Medicine is looking for an Office Assistant.

ChristianaCare's Rocco A. Abessinio Family Wilmington Health Center is home to three primary care practices among other programs and services. Offering wellness and preventive health visits for people of all ages, and medical care for treating illness and injury, the team of clinical and support personnel provide the high-quality health care that every patient within our community deserves, regardless of income or ability to pay. The Wilmington Adult Medicine includes physicians who are teachers, faculty members, making it possible for resident doctors to be part of the care team. Faculty participate in research and continually advance their knowledge as they mentor leading-edge and compassionate care teams who often continue working at ChristianaCare.

You would be joining a fantastic care team that includes attending physicians, physician residents, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, medical assistant, and office assistants. Wilmington Adult Medicine sees an average of 250 patients, per day.

Work Schedule:

  • Monday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday from 8am to 5:30pm
  • Tuesdays from 7am to 7:30pm
  • Rotate Saturdays from 8am to 12pm

Job duties & responsibilities:

You will handle various tasks such as answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, and registering patients. You will represent the practice and handle multi-line telephones, manage the front desktop, collect insurance payments, apply ICD9 and CPT4 codes for billing, and perform outreach calls. You will interact with physicians, staff, and patients to provide accurate communication and customer service. You will need to possess excellent time management, multitasking, and communication skills, and can build professional relationships in a team environment.


Education Requirements:

  • High School Graduate or GED required.
  • Medical receptionist or medical assistant degree preferred but not required.
  • Experience in a medical office setting or customer service environment is preferred but not required.
