Job description

Application Developer Hybrid/Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at the Pentagon Secret Clearance required Bachelor's Degree required Nationwide IT Services (NIS) is on the lookout for an application developer to assist our government client at the Pentagon. Functional Responsibilities: You will be responsible for researching, designing, developing, and testing software at the operating systems level, including compilers and network distribution for military applications. You'll set operational specifications and analyze software requirements. Additionally, you'll support the transition of existing mainframe operations to a web-based SQL server environment, applying principles and techniques from computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis. Minimum/General Experience: Candidates should hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and possess at least 5 years of progressive experience in systems design, development, testing, and implementation. Alternatively, two years of technical experience as a programmer/analyst can replace each year of formal education. Minimum Education/Training/Certification/Clearances: The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of progressive experience in creating technical documentation. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential, along with advanced application programming abilities. You should be capable of coordinating and guiding the work of other application programmers. The candidate must also be able to oversee comprehensive system testing using a prepared test database to achieve expected results and provide formal training. Experience with SQL, DB2, CICS, COBOL, SAS, FOCUS, and/or 4GL Client/Server and Web development tools, as well as familiarity with Army manpower and force management operations, is highly desirable.
