Backend Data Engineer

Full-Time
TS/SCI with polygraph Catalyst is seeking a skilled Backend Data Engineer to manage ETL processes and build efficient data pipelines to support enterprise systems. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with programming languages like Python and Java, as well as a solid understanding of relational databases, flat files, and SQL-like query languages. This role is ideal for a proactive, detail-oriented professional with a passion for building scalable and efficient data solutions that enhance operational capabilities. Responsibilities: • Design, Develop, and manage ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data efficiently across various systems. • Build and maintain robust data pipelines to support data integration and analytics requirements. • Work with relational databases and flat file systems to ensure data consistency, availability, and integrity. • Optimize data pipelines and processes for performance, scalability, and reliability. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data requirements and develop solutions that integrate with proprietary front end in an Agile environment. Requirements: • Candidates must have an active TS/SCI with polygraph to be considered. • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or related fields. • Proven experience with Python and Java for backend data engineering tasks. • Strong knowledge of relational databases and experience working with flat files. • Familiarity with SQL-like query languages for data manipulation and analysis. • Experience with PySpark or JafaSpark (preferred) for distributed data processing. • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to optimize processes for efficiency and scalability. • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team-oriented environment. • Collaborative Communication: Strong interpersonal skills, enabling you to effectively communicate and work with both technical and non-technical team members.
