The Contractor Special Security Officer (CSSO) will work in a dynamic fast-paced environment supporting SCI programs for both the DoD and IC to develop, implement, and administer the security program in accordance with DoD 5205.07 manuals, DoD 5105.21 manuals, NISPOM and JSIG. The CSSO will be responsible for the personnel security, information security, physical security, and Operations Security (OPSEC) of assigned SCIFs and program areas. WHAT YOU'LL DO Knowledgeable in interpreting and implementing security guidance based on ICDs, SEADs, 32 CFR Part 117. "NISPOM Rule" and other policies, regulations, and processes as applicable. Perform all aspects of the SCI Personnel Security Program to include: guidance and assistance for validation of SCI access, access requirements, processing SCI and eligibility and polygraph requests, nomination interviews, submission of investigative requests, conduct SCI security briefings; obtain signed non-disclosure agreement and non-disclosure statement; and perform other related personnel security actions. Perform all aspects of physical security by providing day to day support for badging, access control and visitor control. Support program managers and personnel with classification guidance and other program related requirements (e.g , incoming and outgoing visit certifications, foreign travel reporting and proposal support). Ensure SCI is properly accounted for, controlled, transmitted, transported, packaged, safeguarded, and destroyed, as appropriate. Investigate SCI security infractions and prepare required reports. Build and maintain a relationship with government security counterparts. Provide security awareness training as required by regulations and requested by the customer. Work with IT and ISSO to ensure equipment being brought into the secure areas is authorized and approved. Ensure classified material is properly accounted for, controlled, transmitted, transported, packaged, safeguarded, and destroyed as appropriate. Collaborate and assist the ISSO / ISSM on management of information systems. Ensure all security requirements are maintained to satisfactorily pass government inspections. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Minimum of 4 years full-time experience working with SCI in all security disciplines, but specifically in personnel, physical, information and basic information assurance. Ability to work independently in an operational environment and must possess knowledge of a full range of security principles, concepts, practices, products, and services; methods for evaluating risk and vulnerability; implement mitigating improvement; disseminate security procedures/processes. Ability to routinely travel between customer and company locations in and around Washington, DC area. Must hold an Active U.S. Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Attended and completed a formal SSO certification training. Experience with DISS and Scattered Castles. Experience with SIMS or other security management tools. US Salary Range $90,000 - $135,000 USD The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
