Job description

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to support the Department of Treasury in Washington DC as they build out security inside a specific branch of the department. This position will start out on-site in Washington DC - once the candidate is up to speed they are able to work in a hybrid setting from home 2/3 times per week. This position can hold any level of clearance, however the selected candidate will obtain a Public Trust specific to the agency. Responsibilities: Develops and executes information security plans and policies
Develop strategies and procedures to respond to, recover, and investigate security breach(es)
Develop or implement open-source/third-party tools to assist in detection, prevention and analysis of security threats
Installs, configures, and updates firewalls, data encryption, and other security products to facilitate a secure posture
Conduct periodic network scans to identify and remediate vulnerabilities
Monitor networks and systems for security breaches through the use of software that detects intrusions and anomalous system behavior
Penetration testing experience (burp suite)
Threat hunting experience (threat intelligence analysis), UBA
Qualifications: 5+ years of relative experience Experience with Splunk, Penetration testing experience, and experience with Firewalls (Palo Alto)
Able to obtain Public Trust Clearance Compensation: $90,000 - $112,000 depending on experience
