Overview The Bureau of Global Health Security and Diplomacy (GHSD) is responsible for implementing the U.S. President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) - the U.S. Government initiative launched in 2003 focused on saving and improving the lives of those suffering from HIV/AIDS around the world. PEPFAR supported programs are implemented in these countries under the leadership of the Department of State and through a multitude of U.S. Government agencies, including U.S. Departments of State, Health and Human Services, Defense; the U.S. Agency for International Development; and the Peace Corps. The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion role, assigned to the SCE Directorate and reporting to the Deputy Director, is responsible for managing a comprehensive range of activities aimed at fostering an inclusive and equitable workplace. It involves developing outreach initiatives, ensuring policies are well communicated, and keeping leadership and employees informed on relevant practices. The position offers expert guidance on workplace inclusion matters, collaborates with various internal and external stakeholders to increase awareness of key initiatives, and works closely with other agencies to align on strategies and goals. The role is focused on creating a culture that supports equal opportunities and promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion across the organization. Oversees the full spectrum of EEO and Diversity and Inclusion activities for GHSD, developing and executing both internal and external outreach strategies. Ensures broad communication and circulation of EEO rules and regulations and creates additional strategies to keep employees and senior management informed about relevant practices, procedures, and policies. Provides expert analysis, advice, and coordination on EEO concerns, offering recommendations to senior management on outreach objectives, equal opportunity, workplace diversity, and related issues. Establishes and maintains relationships with professional groups and representatives from other Department offices and bureaus to raise awareness of EEO and Diversity and Inclusion initiatives. Collaborates with other DOS offices, federal agencies, and organizations involved in EEO programs and employment outreach to build consensus and align strategies. Qualifications Skills/Qualifications: The ideal candidate must have expertise in Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) regulations, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) policies, and workplace practices. Strong communication skills are essential for conveying complex information clearly to employees and senior leadership. The candidate must be skilled in analyzing EEO issues, providing recommendations, and fostering collaboration with stakeholders, including federal agencies. MODERATE RISK PUBLIC TRUST clearance required. Education and Experience: MA/MS in Organizational Development, Human Resources, Sociology, Psychology, Counseling, or Communication . Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience. Physical Requirements: The ideal candidate must at a minimum be able to meet the following physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation : Ability to perform repetitive motions with the hands, wrists, and fingers. Ability to engage in and follow audible communications in emergency situations. Ability to sit for prolonged periods at a desk and working on a computer. The Nakupuna Companies use a market-based compensation strategy to ensure that our employees are compensated within applicable market ranges commensurate with multiple factors, including but not limited to the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements, and position location. The projected compensation range for this position is $125,000.00 to $145,000.00 (annualized USD). The good faith salary range displayed represents the position at time of posting and is just one component of Nakupuna Companies total compensation package for employees.
