Job description

ASRC Federal Professional Services is seeking a dynamic self-starter with experience in Information Security (INFOSEC) and Operations Security (OPSEC) disciplines to support the Pentagon's Joint Service Security Office (JSSO). As part of its INFOSEC mission, the Joint Staff Security Office (JSSO) is responsible for ensuring that classified information, Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), and controlled unclassified information (CUI), under the control of the Joint Staff, is protected in accordance with the authoritative policies that govern the Joint Staff InfoSec Program. As part of its mission, the JSSO is responsible for ensuring that all information, under the control of the Joint Staff, is protected in accordance with Federal, DoD, and Joint Staff directives, and that appropriate security safeguards are in place to protect against the release of critical information concerning DoD missions and functions that could cause any type of harm to national security. The applicant will support the government by accomplishing various INFOSEC related actions through the development of recommendations for government approval by performing the following tasks in support of INFOSEC: Program Management and Policy Support Classification Management Security Incident Tracking Security Incident Inquiries Security Training Self-Inspection Program Tasking and Action Processing Writing incident reports Applicant must possess knowledge of, and experience in, the INFOSEC discipline and have the skills and abilities to enable successful accomplishment of the contract's assigned Joint Staff Security Office (JSSO) mission. Applicant must have knowledge and an understanding of security concepts, principles, and practices necessary to review, analyze, and resolve complex issues. Applicant must possess the skills in planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating security programs to meet mission requirements and improve the overall security program; as well as the ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission. This position requires a working knowledge of the US Government Security Programs, with special emphasis on the understanding of various phases of security programs and implementation. Applicant must be able to make complete and correct security determinations within the realm of assigned responsibility and specialty. Must have a current active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility to meet requirements Education/Experience: Applicant must have 6-8 years of INFOSEC/OPSEC experience Preferred Bachelor's degree or higher education
