Description PWS Position Title: Legal Analyst/Technical Writer Position Location: Washington D.C. Clearance Level: DHS Public Trust Responsibilities (including but not limited to): Information may be provided or require access methods including (but not limited to) data retrieval, data mining, and extraction from archival systems; the type of data may include financial, personnel, facilities, IT, programmatic, or project information. Prepare technical documentation from government-provided information, which may include directives, instructions, position papers, reports, forms, tables, graphs, catalogs, manuals, metrics, and emergency action plans (EAPs), etc. Create visualizations as needed for presentations and reports. Prepare presentations and meeting support documents, which may include PowerPoint presentations, viewgraphs, spreadsheets, flow charts, handouts, agendas, charts, and meeting notes. Provide revision, formatting, and final document checking for all presentations and reports. Route for signatures, track through signature routing, and make distribution. Proofread all correspondence to ensure proper format is utilized. Ensure typographical and grammatical accuracy. Ensure conformance with procedural instructions. Ensure that all necessary background materials are attached to each file. Copy, scan, reduce, fax, bind, route, file, distribute, archive, shred, and dispose of documents if applicable. Conducts legal and factual research, utilizing all pertinent resources available. Performs unique and/or complex administrative support functions supporting policy, procedures, and potentially legal issues. Provides training and assistance to new and incumbent employees related to legal issues and electronic systems. Responds to inquiries from client facilities and departments related to policies and procedures. Identifies and resolves potential conflicts before they occur regarding agency responses. Independently assembles, prepares, formats, and distributes policy and procedure development. Compiles data and information from various sources to facilitate policy and procedure development and implementation. Liaison with other legal-based departments in DHS to ensure KMO compliance in all directives, policy, procedure, and workflow. Manages the KMO Posts resource. Qualifications 7+ years of experience Bachelor's degree in a technical or business discipline. Proficient user of MS Office Suite including Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, Outlook Ability to obtain and maintain a DHS Public Trust
