Why This Role is Exciting: •Be part of a team that's helping to modernize critical financial systems. •Lead the transition of major Oracle database environments to the cloud. •Work with advanced technologies and support mission-critical operations. Key Responsibilities: •Database Performance & Monitoring: Oversee system efficiency and optimize performance for both systems and databases. •Troubleshooting & Fine-Tuning: Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve database and application issues, ensuring smooth operations. •Capacity Planning: Monitor and plan for future database capacity needs to ensure seamless growth. •Security & Compliance: Conduct security scans, ensure compliance, and address any findings to maintain a secure environment. •System Upgrades: Upgrade Windows Server and Oracle Databases from versions 12c to 19c, ensuring system stability. •Data Center Migration: Lead the migration and reconfiguration efforts during the transition to the Navy Data Center. •Cloud Transition: Support future transition into a cloud-hosted environment for continued scalability and innovation. •Disaster Recovery: Ensure disaster recovery and continuity of operations plans are in place and regularly tested. •System Administration: Respond to user issues, manage database and website errors, and maintain interfaces with external systems. WebX DBA Responsibilities: •Daily Administration: Provide ongoing support for the Oracle database associated with WebX, including data backup, recovery, reporting, and system updates. •System Integration: Ensure the integration of the WebX platform with Navy systems, maintaining all internal and external data interfaces. •Security Compliance: Ensure all systems meet Navy and DoD security requirements, working within established architectures and policies. •Technical & Planning Support: Provide planning and technical support for all system integration efforts, ensuring smooth workflows with minimal disruption. Required Skills & Qualifications: •Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in IT or a related field. •Certifications: Oracle Database Administrator Certified Professional; Information Assurance Technical (IAT) level II certification. •Technical Expertise: Strong experience with Oracle 12c and 19c, SQL Developer, MySQL, Unix/Linux, Command Line, and Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) 19c. •Database Management: Comprehensive knowledge of Oracle DBA functions, including configuration, patching, upgrades, and application sunsetting. •Security Clearance: Active DoD Secret Clearance required. •Experience: 8+ years in Oracle database administration, with 3+ years supporting DoD projects. •Technical Proficiency: Experience with Oracle Recovery Manager (RMAN), Unix shell scripting, PL/SQL, Microsoft Office 365, and Navy Flankspeed tools.
