Job description

Project Manager This position requires the ability to obtain a Public Trust. The Project Manager will play a crucial role in assisting the development of project plans that identify resource and grant budgetary needs supporting the National Defense University. This position involves hosting weekly project meetings, providing feedback and updates, managing deadlines, and ensuring the timely completion of program initiatives that align with organizational objectives. The Project Manager will also be responsible for developing program assessment protocols and overseeing multiple project tasks to achieve program goals while maintaining high standards of satisfaction, quality, and performance. Compensation & Benefits: Estimated Starting Salary Range for Project Manager: starting at $110,000, DOE Pay commensurate with experience. Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice. Project Manager Responsibilities Include: Develop and implement project plans, including milestones, budgets, dependencies, and stakeholder mapping, to deliver and evaluate mission goals related to research, education, and stakeholder engagement. Host weekly project meetings with team members and managers to provide feedback, advice, and updates on project status. Foster a collaborative work environment and encourage team accountability to meet deadlines. Strategize, implement, and maintain program initiatives that align with organizational objectives, ensuring compliance with established standards of quality and performance. Develop program assessment protocols for evaluation and improvement of program effectiveness and efficiency. Plan and execute events in coordination with college staff and the Program Director, including managing travel planning and logistics as necessary. Work collaboratively with academic and government groups, engaging with internal staff and external stakeholders, including senior executives and government leaders. Ensure effective communication and coordination of efforts. Organize, update, and generate reports from multiple systems related to project status and deliverables. Ensure timely completion or revision of actions related to status/report submissions for key stakeholders. Assist in grant budget management to ensure maximum productivity and resource utilization. Performs other job-related duties as assigned Project Manager
Required Experience, Education, Skills, and Abilities: Education: Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Business Administration, or a related field is required. Master's degree preferred. Experience: At least six (6) years of proven project management experience, preferably in academic or government settings. Experience in grant management, budget oversight, event planning, and logistics coordination. Experience in planning and executing events in coordination with college staff and Director which may include travel planning and logistics. Skills: Proficiency in project management software and tools. Strong organizational, leadership, and multitasking abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience interacting with senior executives and diverse stakeholders. Project Coordination and Reporting: Proficient in drafting project milestones, budgets, and dependencies while effectively mapping stakeholders. Experienced in organizing, updating, and generating comprehensive reports from multiple systems, coordinating activities, and ensuring timely completion or revision of actions related to status and report submissions for key stakeholders. Abilities required: Plan, coordinate, or edit content for publication, including technical reviews and proposals. Monitor project progress, set deadlines, and resolve issues as they arise. Oversee financial resources, track program performance, and develop lessons learned. Host project meetings weekly with management and team Other Requirements: Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance. Must pass pre-employment qualifications for Cherokee Federal. Domestic travel may be required.
