Job description
The Senior Systems Administrator will be responsible for defining specifications for operating systems applications and modifies/maintains existing applications. In this role, the Senior Administrator designs, installs, maintains, and administers infrastructure including hardware, software, and various configurations. The Senior Administrator will design and deploy systems based on business/user requirements. In addition, the individual guides and mentors a team of Systems Administrators in O&M and daily operations of client server (Hybrid Cloud) government enterprise environment. Responsibilities Serves as server team lead Coordinates efforts between teams on deployments and remediation activities. Heavy client interface Implements, supports, and maintains the organization's systems infrastructure, including the implementation and design of hardware and software Researches, plans and initiates system and server upgrades or decommissioning as required Provides technical support for staff and back-end system users Reviews and troubleshoots system error logs and user-reported errors escalated from service desk team Manages user access to systems Maintains server system deployed architecture, diagrams and inventory Troubleshoots and resolves issues, provides reports and recommendations to management on an ongoing basis Responds and troubleshoots end user issues escalated from the service desk Manages daily server team ticket queue and VIP escalations Manages user endpoint (Laptop) images as well as image deployments Manages Windows Active Directory group policy deployment to support new security standards, application deployment and issue remediation Manages and Supports O365 tenancy and Exchange On-line Respond to and remediate weekly security vulnerability scan findings After hours VIP support and off-hours project or patching work required Create and maintain any major outage after action reports Performs other tasks as required by OSC and the Government contracting office Required Qualifications Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience Minimum 8+ years of hands on IT experience Must have IAT Level II Baseline Certification-minimum Security+ Computing Environment Certification (i,e. VMware VCP, MCSA, MSCE) Must be able to manage a diverse team and promote a collaborative environment Must have strong oral and written communication skills Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving ability Strong interpersonal skills to assist non-technical individuals with complex technical issues Must have and maintain a minimum Secret Security Clearance or higher Preferred Qualifications Graduate degree preferred Communication Skills both technical and business oriented ITIL Service Management PowerShell scripting experience Active Directory Forest Management Active Directory user and machine account management Privilege user account management Service account management GPO creation, deployment, tailoring, and management CCRI experience - STIG/ACAS/IAVM scanning, review, mitigation/remediation, risk acceptance End-Point image management, including Windows 11 image development, hardening, deployment, management. Enterprise Printer and Copier Management 5+ Windows Server Experience 5+ MS O365 Experience 5+ Years of VMWare server and infrastructure systems to include: DELL EMC VxRail VmWare / vSphere 7/ VmWare ESXI 7.2ri DELL EMC IDPA/ DELL EMC AVAMAR Hyper converged infrastructure experience Equal Employment Opportunity/M/F/disability/protected veteran status
